This semester we will be using Visual Basic 2008 Express which is available as a free download from Microsoft.com. Along with the usual tasks in an introductory programming course, we will also be learning how to download data from the Internet using the WebBrowser control and XML files along with reading and updating Databases. This is an INTRODUCTORY programming course.

This semester we will be using Java version 6 which is available as a free download from java.sun.com. Along with the usual tasks in a computer language course, we will also be learning how to download data from the Internet, reading XML files and updating databases. This course presumes that you have had some expreience in programming or have already taken a programming course in any other language.
